Session 3 - How Does Student Writing Inform Reading Instruction?

November 21st

7:00-9:00am (PDT), Grades 3-5

9:30-11:30am (PDT) Grades K-2

This two-hour session also has two parts. The first hour
builds on the ideas from Session 1 & 2 and begins with
discussion, analysis, and coaching for teachers who bring
assessments of their own students.

The second hour explores writing as an assessment tool for reading.

We look at student writing to notice how students process at the
text, sentence, and word level and consider implications
for comprehension, language, and skill instruction. As a
conclusion to the series, we evaluate multiple assessments
to determine focuses for whole group instruction, form and
teach small groups, and set individual goals for learners
